Charlie McGimsey

Charlie McGimsey has traveled the world playing drums, beginning his musical journey at the age of 12. By 18, he hit the road, eventually landing in Denver, Colorado, where he performed with a band called Hardly Small.

​

After touring the Midwest and Southwest for five years, Charlie returned to California to join Stoneground, a band known for its distinctive sound. During his time with Stoneground, the band released four albums under Warner Brothers Records.

​

Charlie's national and international touring career includes an extended stay in Guam as well as performances in Japan. As a member of Steel Breeze, he toured alongside Hall & Oates and The Who, contributed to the Top 40 hit “You Don’t Want Me Anymore”, and played on the soundtrack for the film Witchboard.

​

Over the course of his illustrious career, Charlie has shared the stage with an impressive lineup of music legends, including:

  • Bo Diddley

  • Peter Stroud

  • Sammy Hagar

  • Tommy Tutone

  • Country Joe McDonald

 

He has also performed as an opening act for major artists such as:
